D Day

This selection is from a trip following my grandfather’s war diary which is a detailed account of landing on Normandy beach with his platoon of royal engineers on a clear-up mission two days after the D-Day landings. I wanted to get across that the events are not forgotten and the scenes of tragedy have now blended in with everyday life.
