Julie a Spol
Divadlo Julie a Spol has been a part of my Czech life since probably 2004 during my first time visiting my Czech family as my brother-in-law has been a member for 35 years. When visiting it would often be the time of year when the theatre would be on its summer tour. Pulling carts from village to village performing its puppet theatre with an orchestra to the local children. After the performance, they move on to a local hospoda ( pub ) and play music for beer until the early hours. During the past couple of years, Julie a Spol invited me to join them pulling carts becoming a member and documenting the tours. The theatre members span two generations and will celebrate its 50th year in 2026.
